Public Notice - Public Auction

Public Notice is hereby given that there will be approximately 125 forfeited or unclaimed vehicles; miscellaneous other
motorized items which were impounded pursuant to a police incident; bicycles; and miscellaneous items from various City departments offered for sale at PUBLIC AUCTION, SATURDAY, JUNE 6, 2026 AT 9:00 A.M. at the CITY SERVICE COMPLEX, 1195 EAST MAIN STREET, NEWARK, OHIO.  

All vehicles sold will have either a regular title or a salvage title.  The type of title for the vehicle will be announced the day of the auction.  The City of Newark does reserve the right to reject any and all bids.

PAYMENT IS TO BE MADE ON THE DAY OF THE SALE.  CHECKS ARE TO BE MADE PAYABLE TO THE CITY OF NEWARK.  PAYMENT BY CASH OR CHECK ONLY.  NO CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

The Public is invited to view the vehicles and bicycles on Friday, June 5, 2026 between the hours of 1:00 P.M. and 2:30 P.M at the Service Complex at the address stated above. Please click HERE to view the list of vehicles.

Radon Testing Request for Proposals

The City of Newark Department of Development is soliciting qualifications/proposals from State
of Ohio Certified Radon Testing contractors/firms to their capabilities and qualifications to act
on behalf of the City of Newark to perform Radon Testing for grant projects, included but not
limited to FY2024 Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Lead Hazard Control Grant and
HUD Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funded rehabilitation projects.

Granville Road Bridge - Load Posting

A recent inspection of the Granville Road Bridge over the Log Pond Run Diversion Channel requires the bridge to be restricted to 3 Tons gross vehicle weight until temporary corrective measures can be implemented.

A schedule for the completion of this work is not available at this time.

A project to completely replace the bridge is in progress, but is in its infancy stages, and is scheduled for construction in 2026.
